BIOGRAPHY
Lai-Ling Bernstein was born in Miami, Florida, to a father of Chinese-Jamaican descent and a Caucasian mother. Her parents separated shortly after her birth and her mother remarried and relocated to Kennesaw, Georgia where Lai-Ling grew up. However, after another divorce, her mother raised Lai-Ling and her siblings alone.
The hard times, did not keep Lai- Ling from channeling these difficult circumstances into positive life experiences. She stayed focused on school and was active in student government and cultural diversity. At the age of 14 Lai-Ling started her first after-school job as a florist. At 16 she was accepted to The Advanced Academy of Georgia, where she began taking college courses and pursued modeling after being scouted by a boutique agency.
Lai-Ling graduated from the Georgia Institute of Technology with a bachelor’s of science in biology/pre-med. After graduation, she traveled across Asia, connecting with her roots in China. Upon returning to Atlanta, she planned on going to medical school, but instead, continued to model and found herself busting into Atlanta’s growing acting scene. Lai-Ling landed several roles in indie films and most recently landing a role on The DUFF, alongside Mae Whitman and Bella Thorne.
Lai-Ling currently resides in Los Angeles.
